What made you decide to do something
about your weight? What was your turning
point?
I really don't know if I had a
turning point but I had so many reasons that
it's hard to pick one. I couldn't breath, I was
medicated for high cholesterol, anxiety attacks,
and depression. I would sweat at the slightest
bit of activity, and I just was disgusted at my
appearance in the mirror.
What was
really special or unique about the Curves
program? Why do you think it worked when others
did not?
I think for me the fact that
it was so structured and spelled out completely
on the meal plans that I was able to follow it.
Given a choice I would have opted for the wrong
choice, so having it in black and white gave me
the freedom to not have to decide my calories.
As I just followed the meal plans it freed me
up, also, to realize how I was eating, portions
and variety of foods. Smaller meals more often I
believe retrained my body to know when I was
hungry and not just emotional.
How
has eating the Curves way helped you change your
lifestyle and lose weight? What do you like
about it?
First off, I think before
I eat. Am I hungry? Or is it just eating out of
boredom or emotion? I think before I eat. I
exercise before I eat, well I eat a small high
protein before I eat otherwise I do get light
headed. I drink a lot of water, which before
Curves I would have reached for a soda instead.
It's also consequences; do I really need that
triple fudge cake? How many more workouts will I
have to do to work off all those calories? It's
all just a state of being now. This is my life,
I eat what I want but not with
thought!
What were some of the
challenges in losing weight and how did you meet
them?
I think the worst for me was
breaking bad habits, especially late eating,
T.V. time, that's when my Curves protein shake
became my treat. It was not just a meal
replacement it was what I look forward to,
almost like my bad habit but this was ok.
What’s the difference in how you used
to feel at your old weight, and how you feel
now? What do you love about your lighter
self?
I'm up for anything! There's
nothing I can't do, even climb up on my roof to
put up Christmas lights last winter, no
shortness of breath, no anxiety. The one thing I
love most about my lighter self is that I feel
like I express myself more, I'm more confident
about myself and am not embarrassed to speak up!
